From the heart.

Mutu (Nepali word for Heart) founded by a Nepalese Australian mum was launched in Melbourne in 2024. It all started when she visited Nepal in the summer of 2022 and discovered many Nepalese products that are still made traditionally by hand. Unlike mass produced items, local artisans and craftsmen use age old techniques to make quality handmade products.

As we strive towards sustainability, it has become increasingly important to understand, reflect and hold to account how and where our clothes are made. At Mutu, we source only ethically produced and sustainable products where we know exactly where the raw materials come from, and the people involved in each step of the process.

Traditional skills like weaving, embroidery and stitching are slowly becoming extinct. So, we are on a journey to make these unique products available to Australian customers while at the same time generate valuable income support to the local community of women from disadvantaged low socio-economic backgrounds with much needed supplementary income.

Through Mutu, we aim to touch the heart of many.
